What else has changed?

Fee increase: Fee’s have increased slightly due to the changes in the BYSI programs, change in soccer kits (previous ones have been discontinued) and unfortunately inflation.

Year-end Tournament/ Year-end awards: A year-end tournament will be played on a weekend near the end of the season. This will be played from the age groups U9-U19. Awards will be handed out for age groups U15-U19. Awards will consist of: Tournament Champions, Top Scorer, Best Defense, Best Forward and Top Keeper.

Coaches Retention Program: We need amazing parents to volunteer as head coaches to run our amazing soccer program here in the Battlefords and area. Never coached before? That okay! No experience is necessary. BYSI provides coaches a “coaches handbook” which has multiple practice plans and ideas for coaches to use. BYSI also provides on field support if coaches have any questions. Coaches will receive a Coaches Shirt.

Coaches will be required to obtain a 1. Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check (all costs will be reimbursed with a receipt), 2. complete the online free training of ‘Respect in Sport’,  and 3. register as a coach on our BYSI website. Head Coaches who complete steps 1,2,3 and attend a majority of their games/practices will be invited to a Volunteer Appreciation BBQ (near end of season) and presented with a thank you Gift Card. Assistant Coaches will also be invited to the Volunteer Appreciation BBQ. All coaches will be entered into a year end draw!!!!
